Wagner, Dorothy (18 March
1932-23 March 2013)
Dorothy G. Wagner, 81, Greenwood, died peacefully at
her home on Saturday, March 23, 2013. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be
held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Greenwood. Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. The family will receive relatives
and friends at the church, on Wednesday, from noon until time of service. Burial
will follow in the parish cemetery.
Dorothy Gertrude Denk was born on
March 18, 1932, to William and Mary (nee Ginter) Denk. She attended grade school
and senior high school, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1949. Following
high school graduation, she worked for several years as a receptionist at Clark
Electric Cooperative. On Aug. 6, 1952, she married Victor C. Wagner at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. Together they raised four children and lived
their entire life in Greenwood. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Society and a
long time member of St. Mary’s Adult choir, Her greatest loves were her children
and grandchildren. She loved to play piano, enjoyed playing cards, and spent
many hours in the kitchen baking bread and other sweet treats for family and
friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jo (Jim) Gregorich,
Greenwood; two sons, Thomas Wagner, Glen Ellyn, Ill., and William Wagner,
Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Taylor Gregorich, Madison, Claire
Maryanski, Denver, Colo.; and Kyle Wagner, Lombard, Ill.; and four brothers,
Virgil Denk, Decorah, Iowa, William Denk, Greenwood, Jack Denk, Waukesha, and
Ronald Denk, Cedarburg.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her
husband, Victor C. Wagner: one daughter, Michelle; four brothers Jerry Denk,
Leonard Denk, Don Denk and Bernard Denk; and one sister, Marion Lyon.
In
lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy;s name may be designated to the St. Mary’s
Memorial fund.
