Fitzgerald, Janice Mae Edna (13 January 1941- 25 March 2013)

Janice Mae Edna Fitzgerald, age 72, of Stanley, WI, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Stanley. Janice was born January 13, 1941, at home (Maple Hill), the daughter of the late Louis and Evelyn (Regele) Schumacher. She attended area schools, graduating from Stanley high in 1958.

On August 18, 1962, she was united in marriage to William Fitzgerald at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Stanley. The couple continued to operate the Maple Hill Tavern until 1976 when they moved to Stanley. Janice enjoyed picture puzzles, was a fan of Wisconsin sports, cooking and adored her granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bill, of Stanley; son, Tom (Amanda) Fitzgerald of Bloomington, MN and their daughter, Jocelyn; two sisters: Alvina “Bana” Lis and Rozella “Rose” Leja, both of Stanley; one brother, Louis (Marlene) Schumacher of Clarks Grove, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Janice is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters: Virginia Rygiel, and Kerylin in infancy.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, with a 7:45 p.m. rosary being recited.

The family would like to thank the staff at Oakbrook Nursing and Rehab Center and Our Lady of Victory Hospital for the many years of care.
