Elmer Fredrick Buss, 78 rural Withee, Town of Reseburg, died Tuesday moprning, October 18, 1994 at his home.
Elmer was born February 29, 1916 to Albert and Ida (Gorsegner) Buss in the Township of Reseburg, rural Thorp. He and Ottilie Isler were united in marriage June 1, 1938 at the Lutheran Parsonage, Thorp. A dairy farmer, he also was employed by Blue Moon Cheese Factory in Thorp for over 30 years. After his retirement, he worked part-time at Mattes Livestock Market. He continued to live on the home farm, helping his son, until the time of his death. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to the opening of deer season.
Surviving are his wife Ottilie, Withee; six sons: LeRoy (Pat) Buss, Chippewa Falls, Edward (Carol) Buss, Chicago, Ill., Gary (Martha) Buss, Williston, FL, Jerry (Marge) Buss, Rockton, IL, Dennis (Pam) Buss, Cadott, David (Penny) Buss, Withee; five daughters; Marge (Jerry) Cerven, Stillwater, MN, Evelyn (Mike) Wolf, Milwaukie, Oregon, Joan (Forrest) Carver, Tacoma, Wash., Betty Buss, Plymouth, WI,; 35 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one brother Bernard (Linda) Buss of Owen, and one sister Ruby Buss of Thorp. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Harold, two sisters Vera Roix and Mildred DeLeske.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 22, 1994, 1:00 p.m. at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen with the Reverend Paul Petersen, officiating, Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Grandsons served as pallbearers: Dale Buss, Jerry Cerven, Jr., Jerry Buss. Jr., Bruce Schroeder, Bruce Buss and Larry Buss.
