Ida (Edith) Buss, 89, Thorp, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, WI on Saturday, December 5, 1981.

Ida Gorsegner was born May 7, 1892 to Christian and Marie (Teuke) Gorsegner in the town of Reseburg. She received her education in the Colby school, then worked in Withee and Eau Claire. She was united in marriage to Albert Buss, April 2, 1913 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, town of Reseburg.

She leaves to mourn two sons, Elmer Buss of Withee and Bernard Buss of Owen; three daughters, Vera Roix of Thorp, (Mildred) Mrs. Leon De Leske of Marshfield, Ruby of Thorp; 26 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Gorsegner of Greenwood, Emil Gorsegner of Ferndale, Washington and one sister (Rose) Mrs. William Warner of Tombstone, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947, one son Harold in 1928, her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, on Tuesday, December 8, 1981 with Rev. Robert Olson officiating at the 11:00 a.m. service. Interment was made in Sylvan Cemetery, town of Reseburg.

Pallbearers were grandsons: LeRoy Buss, Jerry Buss, Donald Buss, Bill Buss, Herbert Roix and Darrel De Leske

Notes by Ruby Buss (daughter) as of today’s posting:

•Ida had a heard condition and a lot of arthritis.

•This is my mother and since her death 2 daughters died, Mildred of cancer and Vera of diabetes.

Buss, Ida (7 May 1892 - 5 December 1981)

THORP -- Mrs. Ida Buss, 89, Thorp, died Saturday at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.

Services will be Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp, with the Rev. Robert W. Olson, pastor, officiating, Burial will follow in the Sylvan Cemetery, town of Reseberg. Friends may call at the Thorp Funeral Home.

The former Ida Gorsegner was born May 7, 1892 in the town of Reseberg. After her marriage to Albert Buss on April 2, 1913, the couple farmed in the area until retiring. Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Elmer, Withee, and Bernard, Owen; three daughters, Miss Ruby Buss and Mrs. Vera Roix, both of Thorp, and Mrs. Leon (Mildred) DeLeske, Marshfield, two brothers, Carl Gorsegner, Greenwood, and Elmer Gorsegner of the state of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Rose Warner, Tucson, Arizona; 26 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also was predeceased by a son, Harold.
