Maier, Margaret (8 SEP 1943)

Margaret Maier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Maier of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Frank Sonnentag Jr., son of Mr. Frank Sonnentag of Boyd, Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1943, at 8:30 o’clock in the morning in St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp , Wis., Rev. Father Muckerheide officiating.

The bride was beautifully dressed in a white brocaded satin gown with a long train and a fingertip veil. She carried Kilarney roses and gardenia with swansonia and an orchid center. She was given away by her father. Her other attendants were her sister, Mercedes, as bridesmaid. She was dressed in aqua chiffon with a tiara to match. She carried carnations and Johanna Hill roses. Rose Niedzwiecki, a close friend of the bride was maid of honor. She was dressed in a matching gown, that of the bridesmaid in pink chiffon. She carried carnations and Briar Cliff roses.

The groom’s attendant was his brother Anthony. They were dressed in brown suits with gardenia boutonniere.

A dinner and supper were served at the home of the bride’s parents to the immediate families.

Those from away to attend the wedding were: Mr. Frank Sonnetag, Alfred, Tony and Phillip, of Boyd; Mr. and Mrs. John Goodman and family, of Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sonnentag and family and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Sonnetag and family, of Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Envick, of Edson, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Sonnetag and family, of Yakima, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Baldeschwiler, of Jim Falls.

The young couple will make their home in Milwaukee, where the groom is employed in a defense plant there.
