Caroline Ohlmetz Pagel, oldest daughter of Conrad and Amelia Ohlmetz, passed away at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) of old age infirmities at 1:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20, 1943.

The deceased was born on March 26, 1858 at Jeffersonville, Sullivan Co., N.Y. As a child she moved with her parents to Chicago and later to Manitowoc Co., where she grew to womanhood.

Her husband and one son preceded her in death. In Nov. 1919 she sold the farm and has since made this village her home.

Mrs. Pagel was a devoted mother, kind friend and neighbor and respected by all who knew her. In 1932, due to a hip and knee injury, she became an invalid and has been bedridden the past six years.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mary of Thorp, and three sons, Louis of the Town of Reseburg, August of Fond du Lac and Paul of Milwaukee, 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Sprengler officiating, and interment following in the Reseburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Elmer Meyer, Edward Beller, Herman Thiel, Emil Welzien, Alfred Burkhardt and Reinhold Daniel.
