Clerf, William (12 AUG 1863 - 11 DEC 1943)

Wm. Clerf, 80 years of age, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Huberty in the Town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) on Dec. 11, 1943 of old age infirmities. He was eighty years of age.

Born in Luxemburg, Germany, on Aug. 12, 1863, he was united in marriage there in 1894 and came to America in 1898. He lived at Barron, Wis., until 1918, at which time the family moved to a farm in the Town of Worden which was his home until death. Mrs. Clerf preceded him in death May 5, 1940.

He is survived by one son, Mike of Thorp, one daughter, Susie (Mrs. Wm. Huberty) of Thorp and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by Father A.M. Muckerheide at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church here at 9:30 o’clock Tuesday morning, and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were, Anton Baldeschwiler, Joe Hain, Casper Haas and Louis Henke.
