Rivers, Truman (14 SEP 1903 - 15 JAN 1944)
Truman Rivers, aged 40, son of Mr. and mrs. Frank Rivers of Stanley, died suddenly in Milwaukee, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 15, 1944, of a heart ailment. He had been employed with A.O. Smith co. there for several months.
Mr. Rivers was born in Neshkoro, Wis., Sept. 14, 1903, and came to Thorp with his parents in 1910. The family moved to Stanley in 1915. He was graduated from the Stanley schools and was organist in St. Mary’s Church there for several years. He was a talented musician, played with home bands and was frequently heard on radio programs.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Rivers and three sisters, Mrs. Sev. Plombon of Stanley, Collette Rivers of New York, and Betty Rivers, a student at Marquette University.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9:00 o’clock in the morning at St. Mary’s Church in Stanley with Rev. Paul Pitzenberger officiating.
