Wozniak, Josephine (2 JAN 1868 - 26 JAN 1944)
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Wozniak were conducted by Father R. Papierniak at St. Mary’s Church, Czestochowa, on Jan. 29th at ten a.m.
Mrs. Wozniak passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jos. Straszkowski, in the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Jan. 26, 1944, of old age complications. She had reached the age of 76 years.
The deceased was born in Poland on Jan. 2, 1868. She came to America in 1890, residing at Buffalo, N.Y. for nine years and in Stanley for one before coming to Thorp in 1900. She was united in marriage to Vincent Wozniak on Sept. 29, 1891 at Buffalo, N.Y.
She leaves her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Jos. (Frances) Straszkowski and Mrs. John (Stella) Pacholski.
Interment was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery at the Junction. Pallbearers were: Paul Mnikolaiczyk, Paul Bania, John Pogodzinski, Basil Haryicki, Jos. Staron and Chas. Kolaczkowski.
Those from out of town that attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Matousek and family, Mrs. John Teisak, Miss Adeline Pacholski, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bygel and Mrs. Mary Rygel of Boyd, Wis.
