Gotchy, Cynthia S. (25 July 1841 - 7 May 1901)

Last Wednesday evening, about 7 o’clock, Mrs. I. C. Gotchy suffered a stroke of paralysis, since which time she has lain in a semi-conscious condition, with very little, if any, hope of recovery. Mr. Gotchy left her in, apparently, the best of health, walked to the post office and back, and found her unconscious. He immediately summoned help and a physician and everything possible has been done to relieve her, without avail.

Her son Albert and daughter, Mrs. A. C. Finn, were summoned and have since been at her bedside. Her brother C. G. Stowe, of Loyal, and wife, and her step-sister, Mrs. Harry Cook, of Loyal, and her husband were with her the latter part of the week, but have returned home. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Gotchy sincerely hope for her recovery, but her physicians, Drs. Mills and Clark, say the chances are all against it.

Later - Mrs. Gotchy passed into that sleep eternal, Tuesday evening. The funeral will be held this afternoon, at 2 o’clock from the M. E. church. Obituary next week.
