Roehl, Harvey E. (8 March 1919 - 23 March 2008)

Harvey E. Roehl, 89, Chili, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Memorial Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center, Neillsville.

Harvey was born March 8, 1919, in the Town of Fremont to Herman and Clara (Ackerman) Roehl. He received his education at the Cozy Corner School in the Town of Fremont. He married Marie Abbuhl February 14, 1940, in Neillsville. He farmed in the Town of Fremont and Town of Sherman. He also worked in his brother Glenn’s saw mill and for Wick Mobile Homes, Spencer, retiring at the age of 62. He moved to Chili in 1958. Harvey entered Memorial Home in 1998.

He is survived by one son, Raymond "Barney" (Sandra Smith) Roehl, Chili; one daughter, Dorothy Jean (Roger) Slusher, Daisetta, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter (Irene) Roehl, Granton; Carl (Delma) Roehl, Chili; Leo (Verna) Roehl, Chili; and one sister, Lila Nelson, Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie, December 20, 2000; brothers, Glen, Alvin and Russell Roehl; and sisters, Vera Carstensen and Evelynn Roehl.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Neilslville. Rev. John Trewyn will officiate. Burial will be in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to call Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The Buchanan Funeral home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
