Cheese Factory Burned
The Hull, Wisconsin Cheese and Butter Company’s cheese factory, located on the Wausau road four miles east of the city, burned to the ground, last Thursday evening. A few cheese from the curing room being all that was saved. The fire, as it is supposed, started by the pipe pulling out of the chimney, and had gained such headway before being discovered that Mr. Schafer, the cheese maker, who resided over the factory had barely time to escape with his family, losing all household furniture and most of their clothing, with no insurance.
The factory was insured in the Hull Town Mutual Insurance Company for $600.00. We understand the factory will be rebuilt.
