Anderson, Lucy Jane (19 Aug. 1863 - 16 Oct. 1953)

Mrs. Lucy Anderson, 90, Unity, Wisconsin, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital in Wausau. The cause of death was given as complications of age.

Lucy Jane Brown was born August 19, 1863, in Michigan and on September 22, 1879, was married to Charles Anderson. At the age of 8 she came to Clark County with her parents, from Jackson County. They lived on a farm several years and then came to Unity where she lived 20 years before being taken to the Wausau hospital. She had been there for nine years.

Her education was received in rural schools and she was a member of the Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid Society.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby and at 2 p.m. Monday the Rev. Harvey Schall officiated at funeral rites. Burial was made in the Unity cemetery.

Pallbearers were Nyole Creed, Sewell Cook, Walter Cook, Elmer Carlson, George Miller, and William Miller.

Ladies in charge of the flowers were Mrs. E. E. Capes, Mrs. Herbert Binning, Mrs. Elmer Carlson, Mrs. Graham Thayer, Mrs. S. A. Cook and Mrs. M. E. Evenson.

The songs "Abide With Me" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" were sung by Mrs. Ted Domer and Mrs. Rodney Fuller accompanied by Mrs. Tom Loughead on the piano.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Morgan, Unity, and Mrs. Florence Rathjes, Kalamazoo, Mich., six grand-children, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Her husband, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Out of town relatives and friends at the funeral were Mrs. E. M. Anderson, Mrs. Charles Truscon and son of Dearborn, Mich.; Mr. Ralph Anderson and son, Marquette, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson and daughter, Ellsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Allar, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Luchterhand and son, Marshfield; Vera Rueden and Russel, Mrs. Marilyn Guldman of Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Westphall, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rueden, George Rueden Jr., Abbotsford; and Mrs. Jennie Christman, Tony.
