Swaney, Charles (24 Nov. 1880 - 23 Nov. 1953)
Charles Swaney, 73, a resident of Riplinger, died early Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He had been a patient there for several days.
The body reposed at the Swarthout Funeral Home until 12:45 Tuesday afternoon when it was taken to the Riplinger Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted there at 2 P.M.
Mr. Swaney was born November 24, 1880, in Norfolk, Mo. He was married twice. His second marriage to Marie Shigley, who survives him, took place at Spencer April 11, 1936.
Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. (Ellen) Victor Stone, Sheridan, Mo.; Mrs. (Edna) Robert Fisk, Council Bluffs, Ia.; Mrs. (Rose) Owen Swieso, Clinton; one son, Emmet, California; a sister, Mrs. Mary Emery, Huron, S.D.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. One daughter and six brothers preceded him in death.
