Laabs, Hilda (26 April 1910 - 25 Jan. 1944)

Mrs. William Laabs, 33, of Abbotsford, passed away Tuesday, January 25 at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient since January 17.

Hilda Abel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Abel, was born in the town of Eaton, Clark County, on April 26, 1910. She was married to William Laabs at Greenwood in September, 1929.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the West Side Reformed Church at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, January 31. The Rev. B. M. Freseborg officiated. Interment was made in the West Side Cemetery.

During the service the choir sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Jesus, Savior Pilot Me," and "Sweet Bye and Bye."

Pallbearers were Cyril Rakovec, Arno Miller, Tony Gosar, Harry Leibzeit, George Gemmeke and George Saliskar.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Lawrence, 13, and Lester, 10, her father, John Abel, one brother Gilbert Abel and a sister, Mrs. Norbert Kuester, all of the town of Warner, Clark County.

She was preceded in death by her mother in March, 1938.

Flowers were carried by Mrs. Arno Miller, Mrs. Harry Liebzeit, Mrs. Theodore Wessel and Mrs. Edwin Meinhardt.
