News of Loyal
Dec. C. H. Brown, once of dentist in Loyal and president of the village, is now a farmer in Brewerton, N. Y. He was a recent speaker at the Loyal Rotary Club, as reported in the Loyal Tribune. Other Loyal news, gleaned from the Tribune, follows:
The War bond premiere at the Loyal Theater resulted in the sale of 166 bonds, representing a maturity value of $23, 975.
Mrs. Jessie Picus has gone to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to visit her son, Pfc. Leon Picus.
S/Sgt. Donald Schoettler of Camp Adair, Ore., has been spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schoettler.
T/Sgt. and Mrs. Carl C. Bone of El Paso, Texas, have been spending a furlough with Mrs. Bone’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wendel, Loyal, R. 2.
The ladies of Group 2 of the American Legion Auxiliary of Loyal sponsored an entertainment at the Sherman Town hall Tuesday evening. A program was planned, followed by a basket social, Walter Cook of Unity was scheduled to give an address and to auction the baskets.
Mrs. J. F. Picraux and Isabel and Lawrence Fulwiler have returned to Chicago, after spending a little time at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Fulwiler.
