Arthur Haugen has received announcement of the engagement of his sister, Miss Elva Haugen of Healdsburg, Calif., to Capt. James E. Stewart of the U. S. Army, of Ukiah, Calif. Miss Haugen was the youngest of the family of children, and when she was about six years of age, soon after the death of the mother, went to live in the home of an aunt in California. She has been engaged in welfare work in California for several years.

Capt. Stewart was stationed at Clark Field in the Philippines with the 19th Bombardment Group when the war started. He holds the gold medal, struck especially for members of the 19th Group to cover four citations. He has since been tired. The couple will reside on his ranch in Doolin Canyon near Ukiah.
