Kops, Nancy (11 May 1872 - 13 Apr. 1954)

Mrs. Nannie Kops, 81, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Wilmore. She had been in ill health the past six months.

Mrs. Kops, nee Lochning, was born May 11, 1872, in Saxony, Germany. On August 5, 1891, she was married to Herman Kops at the Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, of which she was a member. The couple lived in the Town of Colby and Unity after their marriage. The last 14 years she lived in Unity.

Surviving are three sons, Norman Kops, Chicago and Lester and Herman Kops, Colby; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Wilmore, Unity, and Mrs. Odelia Kurth, Wisconsin Rapids; 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Her husband died in 1928. Five sons and two daughters also preceded her in death.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wis. Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church Colby with the Rev. Otto Hoffman officiating. Burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Nancy Kops, 81, died April 12, 1954 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Wilmore. She had been in ill health the past six months.

Pallbearers were Floyd Purkis, Herbert Kurth, Lyle Johnson, Robert Johnson, Gerald Kops, and Richard Kops.

Mrs. Molen Talcott, Mrs. Timothy Curtin, Mrs. Dean Abbott, Patricia Johnson and Mrs. Robert Nelson had charge of the flowers.

The American Legion Auxiliary attended the services in a body. Mrs. Kops was a charter member and a Gold Star Mother, having lost a son, Otto, after whom the local Legion Post was named, in World War I.

Out of town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Purkis, Lisle, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Loraine Purkis, Rochelle, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kurth, and Mrs. Dean Abbott, Nekoosa; Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Henthes, Plainfield; Mrs. Robert Nelson, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Grassman and Mrs. Richard Grassman, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kurth and son, Wisconsin Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kops, of Chicago.
