Langdon, Flora (12 May 1861 - 13 May 1954)
Word was received here of the death of Mrs. Flora Langdon, 93, of Rhinelander, a sister of the late Ernest Messer, both former residents here.
Mrs. Langdon died Thursday, May 13 of pneumonia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Welsch at Rhinelander, where she made her home.
Also surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. J. Young of Beloit and Mrs. McCammer of California.
She was born, Flora Messer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Messer, May 12, 1861. When the children were small the family moved to Black River Falls for a short time, then moved to Spencer. She received her education in Spencer and was married on November 28, 1878 to Mike Langdon.
In 1882 they went to live in Rhinelander, then known as Pelican Rapids, and was the first white woman there.
They conducted a general store there. On Wednesday, May 12 she was 93.
Relatives from here were unable to attend the funeral.
