Josephson, Victor (9 Apr. 1866 - 19 Nov. 1954)

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Victor Josephson, 88, who passed away Saturday morning at his home here.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby from Sunday until Tuesday noon when it was taken to the church. Rev. Vander Stoep officiated at the service and burial was made in the Unity cemetery.

Mr. Josephson was born in Finland, April 9, 1866. He received his education there. On September 29, 1887 he was married to Emma Johnson in Kristiina.

In 1902 Mr. Josephson came to the United States and settled in Massachusetts. About four years later he was joined by his wife and family and they came to the Town of Unity where they lived for approximately 24 years. After their retirement to the village the home farm was operated by their son, Edgar.

Mr. Josephson is survived by his wife, who is 89; a son, Edgar Josephson, Unity; two daughters, Mrs. Howard Boyer of Unity and Mrs. Fred Mooney, Rhinelander; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 P.M. for Mr. Victor Josephson, 88, who died at his home in Unity Saturday morning, November 20th at 6:15, of old age complications. The Rev. Vander Stoep officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Kenneth Josephson, of Marshfield; Lester and Harold Boyer, Unity; Charles Boyer, Elgin, Ill.; and Walter and Ray Johnson, Rhinelander.

Singers were Mr. A. W. Justman, Roy Justman, Mrs. Ansel Messer, Mrs. George Miller, Mrs. Alfred Johnson and Miss Romelle Johnson, who sang "Abide With Me" and "God Will Take Care of You," accompanied by Mrs. J. A. Olson on the piano.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mooney, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mr. Ray Johnson, Rhinelander; Mrs. Chester Nelson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Josephson and Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jim O’Bries and family, Loyal; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer, Elgin, Ill.

There are 46 living grandchildren.
