Czech, Josephfat (1862? - 5 MAR 1944)
Josephfat Czech, 81, passed away at the home of his son, Joseph Jr., at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 1944, death being caused by old age infirmities.
The deceased was born in Poland and came to America in June 1910, locating on a farm near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).
He is survived by three sons, Joseph Jr. of Lublin, Roman of Thorp and John of Hannibal; two daughters, Mrs. John (Pauline) Zajaczkowski and Mrs. Frank (Antoinette) Prokopiak of Thorp; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1936, and son, Peter, in 1934.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Wednesday morning, March 8, at ten o’clock, Rev. Piekarski officiating. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were, Frank Sierociak, Thos. Klulawaic, John Wojcik, Walter Juzwiak, Basil Harycki, and Mr. Stafin.

This is my Great-grandfather. My Grandfather was Roman, my Father was Edmund. I would love to correspond with anyone knowing the Czech heritage. My parents were married in St. Hedwigs.
