Keefer, Mary E. (Marriage - 2 APR 1944)
The marriage of Miss Mary E. Keefer, daughter of Mrs. Mary B. Keefer of Pine Grove, Pa., to Philip Hardy, U.S.M.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hardy of Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., took place on Palm Sunday, April 2nd, 1944, in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, Pa.
Their attendants were Sergeant and Mrs. Richard Zimmerman.
Sergeant Hardy has been in the Marine Corps for the last fifteen years and is a master gunnery sergeant. He and Sergeant Zimmerman, a native of Pine Grove, have been through six major battles together, including Pearl Harbor, Midway and Guadalcanal.
After a short wedding trip they left for San Francisco, Calif., where they will make their home as Sergeant Hardy has been appointed instructor at the Marine base there.
