Anyzewski, Florian (21 OCT 1863 - 9 MAY 1944)

Florian Anyzewski, 80, passed away at his home in the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 9th, 1944, death being caused by a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning, May 13th at St. Hedwig’s Church. An obituary will be published next week.

Florian Anyzewski, age 80, well known retired businessman, died at his home at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 1944, in this village, quite suddenly death following a heart attack. He was note in the best of health since last summer, but was able to be up most of the time, until just shortly before death.

Mr. Anyzewski, a son of Florian and Johanna Anyzewski was born in Poland on Oct. 21, 1863. When 25 years of age he came to this country with his mother and settled in New York. He was united in marriage there in August 1889 to Mary Boguslawski. After living in New York three years the couple moved to Chicago, where they were in the grocery business for some time. They later moved to Thorp, being engaged in farming. Thirty-three years ago they moved to the village of Thorp, where Mr. Anyzewski and Mr. Anton Malinowski were in business for a number of years, when he retired.

Mr. Anyzewski was an active church member for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Society and the Polish National Alliance, being secretary of the latter organization for eighteen years.. The members of both organizations attended services in a body and paid their last respect and tribute in a very impressive and fitting manner.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, and a son Frank, proprietor of the Chic Apparel Style Shop. A daughter age six years preceded him in death 27 years ago. A brother, Mathew of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. J. Cienciwa, four grandchildren, Roman Anyzewski of Arcadia, Calif., Mrs. Wendell Hottman (Alice) of Arena, Wis., Edward Pawlak of Milwaukee, Jos. Jr. of this village and one great granddaughter, Dolores Anyzewski of Arcadia, Calif.

Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock on Saturday morning at St. Hedwig’s Church, where masses were said by Rev. Francis Piekarski and Rev. Brockman of Abbotsford, and Rev. Kamla of Junction. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were: Joseph Tobola, Chas. Deniszkiewicz, Ignace Przybylski, Frank Wycawski, John Balcer and George Zukowski.
