Helen Barbara Wolowik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wolowik, and Robert B. O’Kon, Petty Officer 1st Class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis O’Kon, Berlin, Wis., were united in marriage by Commander Hughes on April 25th, 1944 at 4:15 p.m. at the U.S. Naval Air Catholic Chapel at North Island, Calif.
The couple were attended by Miss Carmen Gallegos of San Diego, Calif. And Lt. Harold Kinziger, U.S.M.C.R.G., Pound, Wis., on active duty on Marine Air Base Group Two. Lt. Kinziger is a fraternity brother of the groom.
Miss Wolowik was beautifully dressed in an olive green, light wool two-pieced suit, with white accessories. Her corsage consisted of two white orchids. Miss Gallegos wore a pearl gray suit, white accessories and had a corsage of white roses.
The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School, the groom of Berlin High School, Oshkosh Teacher’s College and University of Wisconsin Extension.
The bride is employed as stenographer at Brooks Exclusive Clothing, San Diego. The groom a bombardier instructor on duty, Pacific Fleet Air Wing 14.
The reception was held at the U.S. Grant Hotel. The couple left immediately after the ceremony to spend their honeymoon in Mexico, Los Angeles, Beverly Hill and Hollywood, Calif.
