Nipko, Eileen Marie (Marriage - 5 Oct. 1957)
Miss Eileen Marie Nipko, Unity, and Grant A. Smart, Colby, were united in marriage in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday before the Rev. Roger Knutsen in the Unity, Wis. Methodist Church. Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nipko, Unity and Charles Smart, Colby, Wis.
Mrs. Merton Reckner, sister of the groom, was attired in blue taffeta with fitted bodice and full skirt of net tiers over taffeta accented by her cascade bouquet of pink and white carnations, when she served as matron of honor. Two cousins, Miss Carole Rickert, Marshfield, and Miss Kathleen Moore, Waukesha, were bridesmaids. They wore pink gowns of taffeta and net and carried cascade bouquets of pink and white carnations.
A brother-in-law, Merton Reckner, Colby, attended as best man. The bride’s brother, James Nipko, Unity, and Norman Meinke, Colby, were groomsmen. Ushers were Donald Smart, cousin of the groom, and Peter Zeigler, Stratford.
For her wedding Miss Nipko chose a gown of rose point lace and net styled with net paneled skirt over satin, with a lace nipped-in bodice. Her cascade bouquet contained red roses, stephanotis and feathered carnations.
Before a western honeymoon the bridal couple greeted friends at a reception at the bride’s home and at supper in the church parlors. The bride attended Colby, Wisconsin schools and the groom, the University of Wisconsin graduate, is employed at Wipli, Ulrich and Cox, Wausau.
