Stern, Mary (29 NOV 1941)
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, New York City, was the scene of a pretty wedding at 5:30 A. M. Saturday, November 29, 1941 when Miss Mary Stern, daughter of Gustave Stern, New York, became the bride of Robert Hecker of Worchester, Mass., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hecker of Loyal, Wis. Rev. Father Murphy was officiating clergyman.
The bride was attired in a floor length gown of white satin with a pearl trimmed sweetheart neckline, a long tulle veil fell from a feather headdress. Her flowers were large white chrysanthemums. The bride was attended by her sister Agnes Stern who wore a gown of aqua-marine taffeta styled like the bride’s dress. Her headdress was also the same as the bride’s except matching her dress in color and her flowers were yellow chrysanthemums.
Mr. Hecker was attended by a close friend, Ray Flynn of Worchester, Mass. Both wore tuxedos.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Beach Avenue Social Club in the Bronx. After a few days spent in New York City and the New England States they went to Worchester, Mass., where Mr. Hecker is employed as Service manager by a textile company. They are at home to their friends at 12 Benefit St.
Robert grew to manhood in the vicinity of Loyal and is a graduate of the Loyal High School. He is a worthy, ambitious young man, having many friends who wish the best that life may hold for him and the bride of his choice.
