Popular Young Couple Married Wednesday
On Wednesday afternoon, Sept. **, 1930, in the presence of relatives and intimate friends, Miss Laura Strebe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Strebe and Mr. Frank Goelden, son of Mrs. F. Goelden, were married a the home of the birds parents in the town of Holton. The Rev. M. C. Durnam of the Presbyterian church of Abbotsford officiated using the beautiful impressive ceremony of the Presbyterian church.
Attending the bridal pair were Miss Ellen Wellman and Miss Ethel Strebe, the latter a sister of the bride, and her brother Clyde Strebe, and Herman Weldon.
The bride wore a beautiful gown of rose colors satin and a jeweled headband and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and carnations. Miss Wellman’s dress was of blue flat crepe and Miss Strebe wore yellow flat crepe. Both carried flowers to harmonize with their costumes and both wore headbands.
The rooms were beautifully decorated in a color scheme of pink blue and yellow.
A wedding dinner was served at 5:30 to about two hundred guests.
Among the guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Brown, Miss Ella Brown and Leigh Brown and a lady friend form Menominee, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Strebe and daughter from Waupaca, and Mr. and Mrs. George Strebe and daughter of Goodrich, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Moore , Vivian and Colleen, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thompson, and the Misses Lucille and Florence Nagel of Abbotsford, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Goelden left by auto the next moring for Fond du Lac and Chicago where they will be the guests of his relatives and on their return will be at home to their friends on the groom’s farm, east of the village, where his mother has been keeping house for him.
A wedding dance was given at the Roder’s pavilion in the evening which was greatly enjoyed by the large number attending.
Mr. and Mrs. Goelden are both very popular people in he community and have a host of friends who join in extending heartiest congratulations to the newlyweds.
