Clarence R. Sternitzky (5 July 1914 - 1 January 1993)

Clarence Sternitzky Farm

Since 1948, the cooking of maple sap into syrup has been a way of life in the early springtime on the Clarence Sternitzky farm, east of Granton. Thirty-five hundred or more trees have been tapped each year for the last 23 years.

Although now grown, members of the family still look forward to sap time each spring, and help with the gathering and cooking as they can. They include Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sternitzky, Mrs. Jarry (Lila) Schmitz, who lives on a nearby farm and teaches in Granton; and Mrs. Donald (Velda) Fedie of Milwaukee; and two sons, Stanley, who also lives on an adjoining farm, and Marvin and wife who live close by.

Family Notes

Selma E. (Handke) Sternitzky was the daughter of Paul and Laura (Miles) Handke.  She was born 24 Jan 1915 and married Clarence R. Sternitzky 7 Oct 1933.
