Newton Leroy Drake was born in Viola, Wisconsin, 21 Jan 1876, the first born son of Jesse Oliver Drake (25 Apr 1852 - 1920, Turlock, CA) and Nancy Jane Beighly (26 Jan 1854, in the small borough of Connoquenessing, PA - 14 Sep 1878, WI).  His parents married 18 Nov 1874 in Viola, Richland Co., Wisconsin.  Newton's marriage to Harriet Augusta Chase (21 Jan 1876 - 16 Dec 1958) took place in July, 1908 in Turlock, Stanislaus Co., California.  Their son, Vernon Leroy Drake, was born on April Fools day, in Turlock.  Harriet Chase was buried in Brighton Cemetery, Brighton, Illinois.
