Possibly the sender:
Since the card says "Dear little Nina" I thought Clara might be older than Nina. If J is the first letter of her last name, Clara Johnson, born 1897 (daughter of Louis & Anne Karine Johnson) is a possibility. They lived in Owen in the 1910 Census. The Madeline referred to could be Madeline Servanty (daughter of John & Edith) who was the same age as Nina and also living in Owen in the 1910 Census.

The Holy Family Church of Cudahy was the scene of a double ring ceremony at 10 o’clock on the morning of Sept. 28, 1946, when LaVerne Downing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford H. Downing, became the bride of Frank Zelinski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zelinski of Cudahy, Father Hatsel officiating.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long trailing gown of white satin and net. A coronet of seed pearls held the long white ruffled net veil. She carried a white bridal bouquet of roses, lilies and pompoms.
Mrs. Harry Kober, sister of the groom, was matron of honor in a long white satin and net gown with a low cut sweetheart neckline. Miss Jerry Haley of Marshfield was bridesmaid and wore a long white gown with a satin brocaded bodice and bouffant skirt of net. They wore shoulder length headpieces of white ruffled net. Each carried a mixed bouquet of yellow and baby chrysanthemums, red roses and white pompoms.
Harry Kober, brother-in-law of the groom, acted as best man, and Gasen Downing, brother of the bride, was attendant. The men wore blue pin striped business suits.
Mrs. Clifford Downing attended her daughter’s wedding in a dress of navy blue crepe with black accessories. Mrs. Joseph Zelinski, mother of the groom, wore a sheer black, pink figured gown with black accessories. Both wore mixed corsages of pink roses and white gardenias.
Covers were laid for thirty five at the breakfast following the ceremony at Wendt’s Restaurant in Cudahy. A reception was held from two o’clock to five for seventy guests, after which the young couple left on an extended motor trip.
For her going away outfit the bride wore a gray pin stripe suit, green top coat with black and white accessories.
The bride is a 1942 graduate of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) High School and for the past three years has been employed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom is a graduate of the Cudahy Vocational School and prior to his discharge in January of 1946 served for two years with the Marine forces in Okinawa.
Out of town guests attending the wedding were Mrs. George Knebel, Owen; Mrs. John Anderson, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Kathryn Lennon and Mrs. Betty Basset of Minneapolis, Minn.

--- Knebel, Christopher (6 JUN 1843 - 1 FEB 1929)
Mr. Christopher Knebel, one of the early pioneers of this locality, died at the home of his son, John Knebel, Friday, Feb. 1, 1929, old age being the cause of his departure. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church Monday, Rev. Lachnit officiating, and interment was made in the Colby Catholic Cemetery.
The deceased was born in Coblenz, Germany, June 6, 1843, thus reaching the age of eighty-five years, six months and twenty-six days. In April 1869 he emigrated to Brooklyn, N.Y., and on Dec. 17 of the same year, he was united in marriage to Katherine Saltzback at Milwaukee, where he resided for about eight years, being employed there at the cooper's trade. In the spring of 1877 they moved on to a farm at Abbotsford, Wis. A short time later, they again moved to a farm north of Colby and resided there until the spring of 1881, when they came to Colby and opened up a meat market. After a period of sixteen years in the meat business, they sold the property to W. Fleischmann, who establish the City Bakery. They then moved on to their farm, where they resided for about thirteen years, when they again sold out and moved to the city of Colby, where they have since lived. For the past five and one-half years, he made his home with his son, John Knebel. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Namely: Mr. John Knebel, Colby; Mrs. Art Olson, St. Paul; Mrs. Charles Basset, St. Paul; Mr. George Knebel, Owen, Wis. Also by ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Those from out of town here for the funeral were Mrs. Charles Basset and Mrs. Arthur Olson of St. Paul, Mr. George Knebel of Owen, and Lillian A. Knebel of Chippewa Falls.
Another name is now stricken from the ever lessening roll of our early settlers, but it must be so. His life work was done, and well done, and how much this community owes him and all early pioneers is impossible to estimate.
