Wilson, Mary I. (25 MAR 1865 - 11 FEB 1945)

Miss Mary Ida Wilson, known to all of her friends as "Aunt May", formerly of Freeport, Ill., and who had resided with her sister, Mrs. C.L. Butterfield of Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., for the past year and a half, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, Wis., on Feb. 11, 1945 at 1:45 a.m.

She was born at Yellowstone, LaFayette Co., Wis., on Mar. 25, 1865; and had reached the age of 79 years. Her early years were spent in that community, later moving to Freeport, Ill., where she lived until coming to Thorp.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 14th at the Thorp funeral Home by Rev. Walter Spencer of Owen, pastor of the Reseburg Congregational Church.

Although being partially disabled at the age of 10 years, she has lived a helpful and cheerful life, and was a very devoted Christian.

She leaves to mourn two sisters, Mrs. C.L. Butterfield of Thorp, and Mrs. Herman Weppler, Columbus, Mont., and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was laid to rest in the Reseburg Sylvan Cemetery. The following nephews being pallbearers: Raymond Briggs, Roscoe Butterfield, Lester Butterfield, S-Sgt. Claude Butterfield, William Briggs and Harvey Briggs.
