A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Tolford on the 12th inst.

 

Clapper is building a new residence in the east part of the village.

Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Tallman came home from Rice Lake on Tuesday morning.

 

Mike Carlon who moved to Arkansas several months ago, was a visitor here on Monday.

 

Extra fancy freestone Peaches, will have 50 baskets Saturday, 35 cents per basket at Snyders's.

 

Henry Clay, who has been spending the summer at Spirit Lake, Iowa, returned here last week.

 

The interior of Nate Butler's barbershop has been re-papered, and looks much better in consequence.

 

Mesdames Geo. Peterson, F. M. --ig and --, Carpenter, of Stanley, called on friends here, Monday.

 

Henry Klauck moved his household goods to Maplehurst on Monday where he will reside in the future.

 

The Baptist church interior has been neatly painted  and papered, the work being done by Aug. Lehnhoff.

 

Mrs. D. L. Crowley, of Peterboro, Ontario, Canada, spent a portion of last week here as the guest of Mrs. Margaret Condon.

A killing frost in this vicinity on Friday and Saturday mornings of last week ripened everything in the gardens and fields.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Heagle went to Cadott on Saturday last to attend the funeral of Alexander gray, a relative of Mrs. Heagle's.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Helser of Manowoc, are new residents here, arriving some time ago.  They occupy the rooms over James Connor's saloon.

 

Parties desiring to sell improved runs or wild lands should address -ester Tilton, Withee, Wis., or his real agent, Geo. Burke, Thorp, Wis.

 

Revs. J. Gora of Junction City, and L. Shepaniak of Stevens Point, are guests of Rev. L. Orlik at Posen last week, returning to their homes on Friday.

 

50 baskets of peaches at 35 cents; 25 baskets of grapes at 25 cents, barrel of Bartlet pears per peck 60 cents, 15 baskets Michigan plums 35 cents.  Will have them Saturday.  E. L. Snyder
