Nesvacil, Evelyn (13 AUG 1945)

Miss Evelyn Nesvacil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nesvacil, became the bride of Cpl. Wilfred Brenner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brenner Sr. of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Monday, Aug. 13th, 1945. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Irish at 10 o’clock. The bride was beautifully attired in a white taffeta and marquisette gown with long train and fashioned with fitted bodice, long sleeves ending in points at the wrists and a yoke of fine net, bordered by a row of seed pearls. She wore a fingertip veil with a crown of seed pearls. Her only jewelry was a string of pearls, a gift of the groom. Her arm bouquet was of white carnations and swansonias with white streamers.

Mrs. Ray Knajdek, cousin of the groom, and Mrs. Bernard Brenner, sister-in-law, acted as bridesmaids. Mrs. Knajdek wore a gown of white dotted swiss and Mrs. Brenner a gown of white net over satin. Both wearing white shoulder length veils held by flower tiaras. They wore lockets, gifts of the bride, and carried arm bouquets of red roses.

The groom was attended by Pfc. Alvin Kubera and his brother, Pfc. Bernard Brenner, all wore army uniforms.

The bride’s mother chose a medium blue crepe dress and the groom’s mother a yellow flowered jersey. Their corsages were of red roses. Both grandmothers also wore corsages.

A reception was held at the American Legion Hall at Thorp with about 150 guests. In the evening a dance and shower were given there with music furnished by Ted Roshell’s Orchestra.

The bride is employed at the Blue Moon Foods at Thorp and the groom left for Camp Grant, Wednesday, Aug. 15th for further duty.
