Mead, Edna (17 AUG 1879 - 24 OCT 1945)
Mrs. Hixon (Edna) Mead, who has been residing at Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) for several years past, died at the general hospital at Madison early Wednesday morning, Oct. 24th, 1945. The body will be brought to Thorp for burial, but no arrangements have as yet to be made for the funeral services. An obituary will be published next week.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hixon (Edna) Mead, 66, were conducted by Rev. Floyd Fahlgren, pastor of the Neillsville Methodist Church at the Thorp Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Oct. 17th. Mrs. Mead passed away at the general hospital at Madison on Wednesday, Oct. 24th following a major operation.
Edna Bowen was born at Columbus, Wis., on Aug. 17, 1879. She was united in marriage to Hixon Mead on June 26th, 1901. They resided at Greenwood, Wis. For several years and in 1909 came to Thorp (Clark Co.). Mr. Mead passed away in May 1937. Mrs. Mead has been making her home with her sister, Mrs. R.M. Horswill at Neillsville for the past six years.
She is survived by three sons, Russell of Greenwood, Maurice of Eau Claire and Donald in the U.S. Army; three daughters, Mrs. Steve (Mary) Kettner of Rhinelander, Mrs. Philip (June) Welton of Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Eldred (Virginia) Winger of Lublin, and one sister, Mrs. R.M. Horswill of Neillsville.
She was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were, John Misfeldt, Chas. Ramberg, Peter Kronberg, Jos. Kulwiec, J.E. Lund and A.W. Emerson.
