Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and daughter Nancy and Mrs. Minnie Cox spent Sunday at Thorp at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Offord.
Mrs. Robert Jolivette and daughters Eileen and Joyce and Miss Bonnie Bredesen left Tuesday to spend a month at Pine Bush, N.Y., with Miss Jolivette’s parents. Word was received here recently that Floyd Frank, brother of Mrs. Jolivette, was killed in action in the Philippines.
Mrs. William Lemke of Wausau, Mrs. John Walk, Mrs. Oscar Walk and daughter Kay and Miss Gertrude Walk and Joan Brown of Neillsville were guests here on Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zillmer.
Mrs. Wesley Worden entered St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Monday.
The Kingdom roll call committee of the West Side Reformed church will meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at the church.
Word was received here of the birth of a daughter, Nancy Lee to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Theisen of Wausau on Tuesday, April 10. Mrs. Theisen is the former Ruth Keiner, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Keiner.
The following babies were born at the Greenwood maternity home: To Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Markee a daughter, Lillian Norene on Tuesday, April 10; to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Froelich, a son Dennis, on Friday, April 13; to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson on Saturday, April 14, a daughter Audrey Kay.
S/Sgt. and Mrs. Poburt Burns, who were married at Madison April 12, visited here on Sunday afternoon with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens, and with Miss Rue Cummings and John Arends. Sgt. Burns, son of Mrs. Esther Burns of Madison and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Behrens of Greenwood, has recently returned from 15 months overseas duty with the marines.
Mrs. Palmer Vinger, who spent the past week at Chicago with her daughter Shirley, and at Kenosha, returned home Friday, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Harry Mason, and her niece, Mrs. Clarence Cahall, both of Kenosha, for a visit at the Vinger home until Monday.
