Johnson, Elaine Juliet (Marriage - 10 June 1944)
Miss Elaine Juliet Johnson, Granton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Johnson, Granton, became the bride of Reuben George Anderegg, Loyal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Anderegg, Loyal, at a single-ring ceremony which was read by the Rev. Mr. Longholz at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on June 10 at 2 p.m. The church was decorated with garden flowers.
The bride, who wore a white brocaded nino sheer gown with long sleeves and a finger tip veil, was given in marriage by her father. The bride’s flowers were lilies of the valley and white carnations. Miss Viola Anderegg, maid of honor, wore blue brocaded net with a shoulder-length veil. Her flowers were pink carnations. Caroline Anderegg also attended the bride as bridesmaid, and she wore pink net with a shoulder-length veil and carried pink carnations. The groom was attended by William Johnson and Delmar Bartsch.
Gordon Zickert acted as ring bearer. He wore a blue suit. Wanda Elmhorst, flower girl, wore a dress similar to that of the bride’s. She also wore a shoulder-length veil.
The bride’s mother chose black silk as did the groom’s mother. They both wore corsages of pink carnations.
A wedding reception was held after the ceremony at the Jacob Anderegg home. Covers were laid of 80 guests. The house was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers and cut flowers.
Music at the service was furnished by Mrs. Marvin Seiman at the organ and Mrs. Martha Dux and Miss Laura Noeldner who sang.
For her going away outfit the bride chose a blue suit. They left soon after the ceremony for a five-day trip in northern Wisconsin. They were at home to their friends since June 15 at the Jacob Anderegg farm, where the groom is engaged in farming.
Out of town guests who were here to attend the ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. Francis McHane, Beloit, Wis.; uncle and aunt of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Seidelman, New Lisbon, uncle and aunt of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Starch, Coon Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seidelman and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Keller of Neillsville; uncles and aunts of the groom.
