In a double ring ceremony at nine o’clock, Saturday, June 22nd, 1946 at St. Patrick Church, Menasha, Miss Agnella Leiby, 202 River St., became the bride of John M. Hanamann, Weyauwega. Rev. Joseph Ahearn performed the Nuptial Mass.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white brocaded faille dress with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves and train. The "something old" was the bride’s veil, which has been worn by her aunt, Mrs. Alfred Kass, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). On the veil was hand made lace, made by the bridegroom’s mother. The bride was a string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and carried an arm bouquet of white lilies and baby breath.
Mrs. Victor Klem, Milwaukee, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Eileen Leiby, Fremont, a cousin of the bride, and Marie Rach, Appleton. All the attendants wore white sheer organdy gowns, the material for them having come from Switzerland. The headpieces were heart shaped net hats with veils. The matron of honor carried an arm bouquet of white peonies and the bridesmaids carried an arm bouquet of white peonies and the bridesmaids carried pale pink peonies. Lynn Hanamann, a niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl and was dressed like the attendants, and was escorted down the aisle by Russell Simons, a nephew of Mr. Hanamann.
Attending the bridegroom were Harvey Rach, Appleton as best man, and Byron Boie, Thorp, a cousin of the bride. Victor Klem, Milwaukee and Jake Wagner, Weyauwega, were ushers.
A dinner and reception were held at St. Patrick Church dining hall. Accordion selections were played by Miss Carol Culbertson, Appleton.
The bridegroom son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanamann, Weyauwega, is a veteran of five years with the Army. He is employed at the Valley Iron Works, Appleton. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Leiby, 202 River St., is a graduate of Weyauwega High School and has been employed at the Royal School Stationiers for the past three years.
Those who attended this wedding from Thorp were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kass, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boie, Byron Boie, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitke, Fredrick Smitke; and Mrs. John Brian, of Neillsville.
