Galbreath, Milburn John (28 April 1910 - 2 Sept. 1944)

Funeral services for Milburn John Galbreath, 34, town of Washburn, farmer, were conducted on Monday, September 4, at the Schiller-Terhune funeral home. The Rev. Floyd A. Fahlgren, pastor of the Methodist Church, was officiating clergyman. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery. Mr. Galbreath died early in the morning of September 2, 1944, at this farm home, after two years of illness.

Milburn Galbreath, son of John and Sarah (Wood) Galbreath was born on April 28, 1910, in the town of Washburn, where he spent his entire life.

On December 19, 1931, he was married to Hazel Chapel at Black River Falls. He is survived by his mother, hi wife, and two children, Gwendolyn Geanett and Marjorie Ellen. Surviving brothers are Vernon of Wisconsin Rapids, Earl in service overseas, Robert in service in Colorado, and Burl at home. The sister are Mildred, Mrs. Oscar Ebert of Granton; Ada, Mrs. Arthur Opelt, Neillsville; Vera, Mrs. Howard Bowen, and Genevieve, Mrs. Ed. Holman of Milwaukee, and Opal at home. His father died in 1942, his brother, Hallie in 1936, a sister, Eva, in 1937, and a half brother, Orie, in 1942.

Pallbearers were Richard Qualley, Oliver Williams, Albert Zank, Ted Kissling, William Hrasky and Frank Matousek. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Holman, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Galbreath, Wisconsin Rapids; Pvt. and Mrs. Robert Galbreath, Denver, Colo., and Norman Opelt, Madison.

Milburn Galbreath was brought home Thursday from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital, where he had been cared for during his last trying days, by his wife and sisters. Saturday morning at 9:30 he passed away at his home after a long illness. He leaves a wife and two daughters, many relatives and friends.
