Seif, Fredericka (9 Apr. 1897 - 12 Jan. 1945)

Mrs. Fredericka Seif died at her home in Neillsville at 3:15 a.m. on January 12, 1945, at the age of 47 years. Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, at 1:45 in the afternoon at the Jaster funeral home and at 2 o’clock at Zion Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. N. J. Dechant, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville cemetery.

Fredericka Kroll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Kroll, was born April 9, 1897, in the state of Illinois, where the family then resided. When she was seven years of age her parents moved to Clark county, and bought the farm in the town of Weston. Here she lived until 1927, when she was united in marriage with David Seif and since that time her home has been in the town of Pine Valley. About a year ago they moved to Neillsville. She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church.

Mrs. Seif is survived by her husband and two step-daughters, Esther, Mrs. James Maricle, Greenwood, and Gladys, Mrs. John Rhnolski, on the home farm in the town of Pine Valley. Also surviving are her parents, two brothers, Henry Kroll, town of Weston, and Edward Kroll, town of York, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Bartels, Wausau.

Pallbearers were Robert Seif, Harley Seif, Dale Seif, Wilmer Kroll, Edwin Radue and Louis Seif, relatives of the deceased.

I am so grateful for your and others' work on the history of Clark County. It has been immensely useful in my genealogy of the Seif family descended from Fred and Mary Magdalene Wiesner Seif. I notice that the obituary mentions a "Gladys Rhnolski." Gladys Seif Rychnovsky, who is Dave Seif's daughter, still lives on Ayers street in Neillsville. Thank you for changing the Fredricka Kroll Seif obituary to reflect the new spelling of Gladys' name.

I am also curious as to whether you have come across obituaries for my grandmother and grand father, Charles Seif (d. 1975) and Elsie Seif (d. 1954).

I would appreciate any obituaries that could be added to the archive with the surnames: Seif, Wiesner, Wildish etc. I am working on Seif genealogy. Fredericka Kroll was the second wife of David Seif. Meta Klann was David's first wife and died from a massive infection after surgery in 1927. After Fredericka passed away, he married again, this time to a "Mrs. Foemmel."
