Broda, John F. (1888 - 9 DEC 1946)
Last rites were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church here at 10:00 o’clock Thursday morning, Dec. 12 for John F. Broda, Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) farmer who passed away of cancer at his home here on Dec. 9th, 1946.
The deceased was born in Poland in 1888 and came to this country in 1891 with his parents. They made their first home in Chicago. He was married in Thorp in March 1919 to Miss Anna Kopec and they have since made their home here.
Besides his widow, Mr. Broda is survived by three sons, John Jr., Edward and Thomas, all of Thorp, and one brother, Louis Broda of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, the following friends serving as pallbearers: Peter Wnek, Jos. Sopiarz, Andrew Krych, Tom Polnaszek, John Wegner and Stanley Ulasiuk.
Relatives from out of town here to attend the funeral were: Louis Broda, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Bohaboy and son Philip, brewing, Ill.; Mrs. Anna Heiler, Oak Park, Ill.; Frank Ptasziewicz, Mr. and Mrs. Kwzawski, Mrs. Anton Boldyga, Mrs. Walter Malaga, Ray Martin, Sylvester Broda, Mrs. Anton Broda, of Chicago; Mrs. Anna Tomasko, Stanley Kopec, Detroit, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. John Przybylski, Denmark, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bloomquest, Wausau, Wis., Fred Draper, Brokau, Wis.
