Nelson, William N. (19 Mar 1878 - 18 Oct 1945)
Death came suddenly to William Ned Nelson, 67, at his farm home in the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.), on Oct. 18, 1945, when he was suddenly stricken with a fatal heart attack while participating in an auction sale being held on his farm.
He was having the sale of his farm property previous to his retirement because of poor health.
Funeral services were read from the Methodist Church at Loyal by Rev. M.E. Taylor. Interment was made in the Beaver Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Cpl Harold Hardrath, Halbert Hardrath, Richard Hardrath, Harley Hardrath, Alden Hardrath and Duane Fischer.
Flower girls were: Beverly Fischer, Margaret and Norma Herdrick, Dorothy Braun, Mrs. Leon Nelson, Mrs. Richard Hardrath, Mrs. Harley Hardrath, Mrs. Alden Hardrath, Mrs. Gilbert Wiedenhoeft and Alice Pachal.
William Nelson was born on March 19, 1878, near Fond du Lac. He moved to the Town of Beaver with his parents when he was still a small child. He has always resided in the Township and been a successful farmer. It is regretful that his contemplated pleasures of retirement and his success were erased by his sudden passing away.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1906, and three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Sylvia) Pieper of the Town of Beaver, Mrs. Stanley (Iva) Stevens of Loyal, and Mrs. Ray (Veryl) Grosnick of Phillips, and two grandchildren, James and Kathleen Stevens. Alice and two sons, Walter and Neil, preceded him in death.
