Hoeser, Norbert Francis (28 October 1935 - 29 April, 2008)

NORBERT FRANCIS HOESER

Norbert Hoeser, 72, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Norbert Francis Hoeser was born October 28, 1935, in the Town of Grant, Clark County, the son of Frank and Rozinia (Ziglinski) Hoeser. He attended Washington School in the Town of Grant and then worked on the family farm and helped on the neighboring farms.

He was united in marriage to Germaine "Gerri" Handrick May 18, 1963, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. They raised four children in the Neillsville area while Norb worked for many years at the Weyerhaeuser Door Company in Marshfield. He retired in 1991 due to ill health. They moved to Marshfield in 1996.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. He was an avid fan of only one NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. He loved listening to country music and gardening. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and warm weather. He was looking forward to spring. However, most important to him, the light of his life, were his grandchildren, his family and his faith.

He is survived by his wife, Germaine "Gerri"; three sons, Greg "Purple" (Deann) Hoeser and their children, Nicole, Kaitlin and Olivia of Loyal, David (Lisa) Hoeser of Stevens Point and Larry (Cindy) Hoeser and their children, Margaret and Andrew of Neillsville; and one daughter, Karen (Joe) Zastrow and their children, Elizabeth and Theresa of West Concord.

Norb is further survived by two brothers, Donald (Jean) Hoeser of Marshfield and Phil (Penny) Hoeser of Winona, MN; three sisters, Gerrie Schultz of Neillsville, Jeanette (Buck) Spencer of Marshfield and Julie (Chuck) Krostag of Hobart, IN. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Norbert was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant was Fr. Woodrow H. Pace. Interment was in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation took place Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m., Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.

In lieu of flowers Memorials or Masses were preferred.

Norb’s family is appreciative to the North Ridge Dialysis Center and staff for the touching care they gave over the years, especially Dr. Campbell.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Norbert’s family with funeral arrangements.
