MARION BILL BURZYNSKI
With Flag Marion B. Burzynski, age 76, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Thorp, passed away at home on Thursday, May 1, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Fr. Marion Talaga officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery in Thorp.
Pallbearers were Wendy Frank, Jesse Wampole, Nick Burzynski, Jim Burzynski, Dave Burzynski, and Donnie Burzynski. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, may 4, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Marion Bill Burzynski was born on June 25, 1931 in the Town of Taft, rural Thorp, to Walter and Hattie (Kwapinski) Burzynski. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Town of Taft. Marion was united in marriage to Rosemary Wincek in 1954. He farmed in the Town of Taft for 29 years and then farmed in the Town of Thorp until 1993. He lived in the Town of Thorp until moving to his daughter’s home in Chippewa Falls in January of 2008. He was a member of St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, the Abramowicz, Kacmarczyk & Cwikla American Legion Post #547 in Lublin, and the Thorp VFW Post 9057 for many years.
Marion had many interests, but especially enjoyed going to the casino, auctions, and collecting scrap metal.
He is survived by three children: Gloria (Pete) Meyer of Chippewa Falls, Arnie (Pegi) Burzinski of Princeton, MN, and Loretta Burzynski of Stanley; one daughter-in-law, Susan Burzynski of Thorp; two grandsons: Jesse and Wesley Wampole; two step-grandchildren: Joshua Dubanowich and Brittoni Pederson; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Brady and James; four step-great-grandchildren: Chase, Dylan, Scott and Corinia; three brothers: Stanley (Vera) Burzynski of Vega, TX, Edward Burzynski of Monongahela, PA, and Louis (Louise) Burzynski of Piney Flats, TN; and one sister, Estelle Kroepfel of Port Washington, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose, on September 4, 1976; six children, Kenneth (April 25, 2008), Daniel, Lillian Burzynski, Shirley Wampole, and twins Arlene and Arlen Burzynski in infancy. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons: Kevin and Andy Wampole; four brothers: Leo, Frank, Walter and Michael Burzynski; and three sisters: Harriet Steivang, Marie Pawlak, and Toni Van Overmeiren.
Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
