Vine, Nellie (1875? - 13 July 1945)
Mrs. Fred Vine, 70, died at her home in the town of Grant Friday, July 13, 1945. She had been ill for some time. Funeral services were held on Monday at the Lowe funeral home, the Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Burial was made in the Grant cemetery.
Nellie Burnett was born at Anover, England. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett Bennett. Her youth was spent in England and at the age of 18 years she came to America. Upon her arrival in this country she came to the home of her uncle, the late Henry Carter, who was then residing on his farm in the town of Grant. She spent a few years in Minnesota before her marriage to Fred Vine at Lac du Flambeau on March 17, 1898. They returned immediately to their farm in the town of Grant, which has been their home since.
Four children were born to them. They are: Ernest, town of Grant; William, town of Grant; Ray of Minnesota; a daughter, Lettie, Mrs. Roy Suckow, Neillsville.
Surviving besides her husband and four children are a brother, Ed. Bennett, Dunkirk, Mont., and a brother and two sisters still residing in England. A brother-in-law, Frank Vine, has made his home with them.
