Mick, John G. (1885? - Aug. 1945)
John G. Mick, whose boyhood was spent in Neillsville, is dead in Canton, Ohio. He had conducted the Mick Apothecary there for seven years, after operating a drug store for 20 years in Chicago.
John Mick was the youngest of four children, born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mick of Neillsville. As a lad he worked in the Sniteman drug store, and was one of not a few lads inspired by the late C. C. Sniteman to go into the drug business. John attended the Chicago College of Pharmacy. His brother, Carl, also deceased, became a pharmacist.
The Mick boys did not linger in Neillsville, but went on to other pastures. The parental home was on West Tenth street on the North Side. Their maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Servaty, were pioneer residents of Neillsville. They built the house now owned by Robert Prochazka.
John’s brother Emil resides in Minneapolis, and his sister, Mrs. J. H. Stiehl, resides in Merrillan. Both of them attended the funeral at Canton.
Mr. Mick was about 60 years of age. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Florence Mick, and one son, John, who resides at Canton.
