Matuszak, Agnes (13 Jan. 1863 - 10 Dec. 1945)
Mrs. Agnes Matuszak, 82, was interred in St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery Thursday morning following funeral services from the Jaster funeral home at 8:30 a.m., and from St. Mary’s Catholic church at 8:45 a.m. The Rev. Fr. J. A. Biegler officiated.
She died Monday, December 10, at her home in the town of Washburn.
Mrs. Matuszak, nee Agnes Kwasnieski, was born in Poland January 13, 1863. She was married in Poland to John Matuszak, who preceded her in death. In 1890 she and her husband came to this country and settled in Pennslyvania, later going to Chicago. In 1918 they moved from Chicago to the town of Washburn.
Seven children were born to this union, one of whom preceded the mother in death. The surviving children are: Frank Matuszak, Lamont, Ind.; Mrs. Frank (Mary) Nowak, Calumet City, Ill.; Mrs. Sabin (Helen) Brudnicki, Henry Matuszak and Mrs. Celia Antonik, all of Chicago; William Matuszak, who lives on the home farm in the town of Washburn. A brother, Andrew Kwasnieski, Calumet City, Ill.; and 15 grandchildren also survive.
