Rev. and Mrs. Dechant, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Sagen and son and Mrs. John Epding had supper with the Subke family evening.

Mrs. Peter Honzik, Sr., Mrs. Louie Matwoussek and Mrs. James Kalas returned home last Wednesday evening after a week’s visit in Chicago.

Neighbors and friends gathered at the Levis Hall Thursday evening for a party in honor of S 1/c Leroy Lautenbach, who is home on a furlough; Mrs. Robert French’s birthday and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Opelt’s wedding anniversary. The evening was spent dancing and visiting.

Mrs. Palmer and Carl, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Subka home Saturday evening for a farewell party for Mr. and Mrs. Chester Nielsen.

Mr. and Mrs. Willard Cole and Grandma Cole of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Forest Gault of Watertown and Mr. Edmunson of Chicago were dinner guests at the Fred Palmer home. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Opelt called in the afternoon and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nielsen and Mrs. Elsie Palmer and Carl spent the evening there.

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Raether of Eau Claire and Mrs. Esther Green of Neillsville spent Sunday at the Harry Anderson home.

Dells Dam School was closed Monday as the teacher, Miss Perushek, attended a demonstration at the Pine Valley Mound School.

S 1/c Leroy Lautenbach returned to his duties Sunday morning, after spending 16 days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Lautenbach. He goes to Brooklyn, N. Y.

Mrs. Hiram Riphenberg returned home from Osseo Sunday. She has been helping care for the new grandson born to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Riphenberg. Mr. and Mrs. Lee were at the Riphenberg home while she was away.

Miss Helen Wucki arrived home Saturday from California to help care for her mother.

Hermie Meier is home from Loyal.

Peter Honzik, Jr., sure is a busy man wiring severing places in this locality for electric lights. He has wired for Ferd Kopp, Herbert Schoenherr, Henry Seidelman and George Beeckler in the past two weeks.

George Bryan lost a cow Sunday night by dogs chasing it while ‘coon hunting.

Mrs. Marshall spent a few days with her sister, Mrs. Fergusen, before returning to her home in the West.
