Sgt. Clayton Turner is the first York Center boy to be returned to civilian life from overseas duty. He arrived home Thursday, Nov. 30. He entered the service Aug. 28, 1942; spent 11 months in Australia; was stationed in New Guinea until he left for home. He worked as a carpenter and in charge of supplies.

Gilbert Rossow and Lawrence Galinski went to Milwaukee last Tuesday to take their army examination. Gilbert came home as a result of not passing but Lawrence went on a Fort Sheridan.

Annie Walter, who is employed at the Ronald Gluch home, spent Sunday with home folks.

Mrs. Jim Triska and Orville Turner, Chicago, accompanied their brother Clayton home Thursday for a visit with their mother and other relatives, leaving again for home Saturday night.

Mrs. Hattie Turner and Clayton were supper guests at the Wilbur Turner home in Neillsville Monday evening.
