Wilbert, Peter (12 June 1858 - 23 June 1933)

Funeral services were held Monday, June 26, for Pete Wilbert, 75, who died Friday afternoon June 23, 1933, at 4:30 o’clock at his home in Abbotsford, Wis. His death was caused by a complication of disease.

The funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 and at Christ Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Hoffman of Colby officiating, and interment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Wilbert was born June 12, 1858, in Germany. He came to the United States with his parents at the age of nine years. The family came at once to Wisconsin and settled near Sheboygan. In 1887 Mr. Wilbert came to Abbotsford where he had bought some land. In 1898 he moved to Dorchester, Wis. For the past 16 years he has resided in the village of Abbotsford, a loved and respected citizen.

Mr. Wilbert first married in April 1888, to Bertha Janke, who died April 30, 1891. On December 26, 1892 he was married to Bertha Wilhelmi. To this union was born three children: a son who died in infancy; Nora, now Mrs. Otto Stock of Loyal; and Freda, wife of Fred Meyer of Colby, Wisconsin, who with three grandchildren survive.

Relatives from out of town were Mrs. Anna Wilbert of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schmidt and daughter and Albert Gutenberger of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilhelmi of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
