Wilson, Rt. Rev. Frank Elmer D.D., S.T.D. (? - 16 FEB 1944)
The Rt. Rev. Frank Elmer Wilson, D.D., S.T.D., bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Eau Claire since its creation in 1929 and a resident of Eau Claire for just a quarter of a century, died at Luther hospital, Eau Claire, at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday of a heart ailment from which he had been suffering.
Dr. Wilson’s death came after an illness that had made him an invalid at intervals for the last three years. He had been a patient in the hospital about three weeks previous to his death.
Funeral to be Friday
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Christ Church cathedral with a Requiem Eucharist at 10 o’clock in the morning. Clergymen from the diocese and the province will officiate.
Bishop Wilson was well known in Owen, having visited St. Katherine’s church on many occasions, and prior to his becoming Bishop, served as visiting priest of this church. A number of Owen people will attend the funeral services.
